FAQ

The Kon Tiki features modern cabins including standard, panoramic and suite categories. For best choice (deck level, panoramic windows), we recommend booking early as top-deck and suite cabins often sell out first.

The ideal season is from October through April when temperatures are moderate; during the summer months (June-August) the heat can be intense in the Luxor-Aswan region.

A valid passport (typically with at least six months remaining) is required, and your visa on arrival or e-visa should be sorted before or on arrival in Egypt. Travel insurance is strongly recommended. There are no universally mandatory vaccinations but check your home country’s advice for travel to Egypt

Yes — Nile cruises are suitable for families, couples, groups and solo travellers. Some activities require moderate mobility (e.g., temple sites involve steps and uneven terrain) so consider this if children are young or mobility is limited.

Bring lightweight and breathable clothing for daytime, and a light jacket for cooler evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for excursions. Don’t forget sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), maybe a small day-pack for site visits, and adapt your clothing style for respectful visits to temples (e.g., shoulders and knees covered)

On the first day, cabins are typically available from midday (or as specified by the cruise operator). Please ensure you arrive in ample time to fully enjoy your first meals and evening on board. On the final day, checkout times can vary (sometimes early morning) so we recommend confirming with your operator.
